The Facebook announced the acquisition of instant messaging application Whatsapp, against a price that reaches 19 billion dollars, which is the highest cost exmarket in the history of the largest social network in the world.
4 billion dollars will be paid in cash, 12 billion dollars in shares and other 3 billion dollars at a later date to the shareholders of the app.
"TWhatsApp is going to connect one billion people. Services that reach this level come at an incredible price,” said Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg.
" The WhatsApp has built a real-time mobile messaging service that has a leading position and is growing very quickly," emphasizes Facebook in a statement that also points out that the service has more than 450 millions monthly users, of which 70% are daily active, while over a million people open an account every day.
