0Patch: Updates to Windows 7 & Server 2008 R2 after end of support

Good news from 0Patch? THE plans to stop supporting the operating systems 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as of January 2020. The but which use the functional ones will be able to extend support for up to three years.

Windows 7 0patch

Most businesses and of course regular users of the operating system will not pay Microsoft to extend the support. But the company SecurityPatch he said on 21 September 2019 that it will install Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to have and share operating system security updates after January of 2020.

The company has already been released some micropatches to fill Windows security gaps before Microsoft's official release.

The company says:

Security updates that Microsoft will release for supported versions of Windows will be tested to find out which ones can be used for both Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. 0Patch will determine whether the selected updates are dangerous to require some security update.

If the vulnerabilities affect both versions of Windows, 0Patch will create a PoC or use an existing one if it has already been published by other security researchers.

Engineers will use the following Microsoft code that fixes the vulnerability to release updates to non-supported operating systems.

It should be mentioned that Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 operating systems are still used in very many eyes worldwide.

So although Microsoft encourages users to upgrade to , we consider it very difficult. That's why SecurityPatch thought it would be a very good idea if a third party released the patches.

But who trusts a third-party company to repair its operating system? It will be interesting to see if many follow the 0Patch, and if so, how it will handle the responsibility.
