Windows vs Linux you like does not like it

Windows vs Linux: Windows or Linux? Which operating system do you use? The question may be an invitation to a heated discussion about the benefits of the GUI over the command line, the modern UI over old-school friends, the advantages and disadvantages of Windows 10, the LAMP over IIS ... and the list goes on .

For most, however, the answer is between Windows or Mac.windows linux

Windows vs Linux: Let's be honest ...

Anyone who has used Windows (in any of its versions) knows that at some point, Microsoft's operating system will disappoint him out of nowhere. Windows can decide when to apply updates (endless patches) and when to reboot, putting your work at risk. Or what about the inevitable virus or malware? You spend money on anti-virus software, or in the worst case, you have to send your machine in for repair because the virus that passed through has caused you some irreparable damage. .

Somewhere here you can think of Apple's MacOS products that suffer less than Windows vulnerabilities, but their price is high enough.

There is, however, another alternative in both that does not cost. We are talking about Linux. You can simply download and install, the operating software that is said to be much more resistant to viruses and malware.
Not that there are no viruses for Linux, but the cases are far less than the crap that happens in Windows.

On the other hand, beforethe likes of Gimp, and LibreOffice, are awesome, but they're not like Windows (PhotoShop, Office).

Linux has played and lost to Gaming, as it has played and has generally lost to Desktops.

What is Linux?

Linux came in the mid-90s, when the then student Linus Torvalds was commissioned to create a disk drive that can read the Minix file system. (Minix is compatible with POSIX, a UNIX-like operating system that released 1987.)

This project finally gave the Linux kernel. The core of an operating system is an essential tool that provides basic services for all aspects of the operating system. In the case of Linux, the kernel is a UNIX-type monolithic system that happens to be the largest open source project in the world. In more basic terms we could say, "Linux is a free alternative for Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS."

Let's talk about the User Interface:

How does an average user handle it of; Can Linux meet these needs?

For the average user, a computer is one way:

  • Interaction with social media
  • Read, create, and send emails
  • Listen and find music
  • Watch YouTube or Netflix
  • Occasionally write something

Five years ago, each of these jobs would need a different application. Today, modern computer tasks can usually be done in a browser. Facebook, the , το Netflix, το Outlook 365, μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν από τον Chrome, τον Firefox, τον Safari τον Internet Explorer ή τον . Each of these browsers allows the user to do whatever they want. In very rare cases a website may be found that will not be supported by any of the above browsers.

So if we consider that the average user spends most of their time in a browser, the underlying it doesn't matter that much.

However, with all of the above, wouldn't it make more sense to use a platform with fewer problems? Without endless vulnerabilities and weaknesses, with closed-source code and telemetry recording your every move. without operating costs and extra applications ...

Here's where Linux makes the difference. It's open source, and users are not only able to use the platform for free but they can change it and redistribute the operating system as their own distribution.

Windows vs Linux: Today

However, our digital world can be described as a Windows world because it is not free. It is not free means money, and if you multiply existing computers and run Windows at the moment with the operating price, you will probably understand some of the size of Microsoft.

Today computer means Windows, with all its advantages and disadvantages. It is now a stereotype that has been built after years of marketing on a network that has been built to get as much as it can.
Of course Linux is lagging behind in this piece. Free mood leaves no room for competition through costly marketing companies or departments.

Why do Windows dominate?

Huge business deals with hardware manufacturers, see OEMs. That's a lot of money…

Businesses also have a strong tendency to choose a route and stay there, unless there is some very powerful reason that requires change. They add the cost of replacing systems, software, established procedures and staff training, and they usually decide to continue doing what they did.

The fact that many companies are still running with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 proves this view.

We should also mention the market trend, first choose the software that wants to work and after the platform that will run them. Table systems are developed as application tools. For the most part, they are not just purchased for the operating system. This means that the customer first searches for the applications and tools they need and chooses a system that supports them, as I mentioned above.

So there are many who are proud to ask "is PhotoShop running on Linux?"
No it does not run, it runs on MacOS and Windows though. Random?

The complex world of Linux

But if we want to be fair, we should stop burying Microsoft and Apple, as companies have proved to do very well what they do. Each company's goal is to be profitable.

We should look a little in the Linux world.

You know of course that there is not just one Linux distribution. Linux ακούγεται αστείο αφού δεν υπάρχει κάτι ενιαίο. Υπάρχουν πολλές διαφορετικές διεπαφές χρηστών, συστήματα αρχείων, τρόποι εγκατάστασης και of a system. And while proponents say this is exactly the power of the operating system, many businesses and individuals are confused.

Additionally, there is no decision maker who has a full picture of what is happening in the Linux world, just like with Microsoft and Apple giants.

Let's say once a decision maker (Google) was found, Linux in the form of Android conquered the world!

Windows vs. Linux: On the other hand, there is always the eternal controversy:

Windows vs Linux: Tomorrow

The world is changing rapidly and this is certainly an important factor to consider. Desktop and mobile systems are no longer considered the only way to consume applications. Smartphones and are increasingly considered the platforms of the future.

In this category, we see that Linux (in the form of Android but I mentioned above) and Unix (in the form of IOS) drive the market share.

I hope along with Windows or any other open source code!

  1. Linux did not play and lost to gaming. He has made tremendous progress. He does not have the financial attitude of the megacities of the place but neither the support he needs. If we weigh the problems and the progress of linux, we will see that the utopia lives.
Google can give a push to android but the price is great.
