Microsoft has finally stopped offering free upgrades from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
The "vacuum" that allowed upgrades of older systems to Windows 10, stopped working yesterday at noon, while in the morning the free page Upgrade still had download links.
For the record in July 2016, Microsoft officially completed the program Get Windows 10, which allowed anyone running a supported version of Windows to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
However, the free upgrade offer remained open (in fact, like the fairy tale with Kapodistria's potatoes) for people using support technologies in Windows 7 and 8.1.
Of course, the company did not confirm whether all those who upgraded their systems were using support technologies.
Since yesterday, Microsoft has stopped offering free upgrade, and the official promo website he says:
“Thank you for your interest in Windows 10. H extension της προσφοράς δωρεάν αναβάθμισης για χρήστες των Windows 7 και Windows 8 που χρησιμοποιούν τεχνολογίες υποστήριξης, έληξε στις 31 Δεκεμβρίου 2017. Ως εναλλακτική λύση, τα λογισμικά αλλά και συσκευές με Windοws 10 είναι διαθέσιμες για αγορά από το κατάστημα λιανικής πώλησης.”
So from now on, those who use Windows 7, 8.1 and want to upgrade to Windows 10 have no choice but to buy a license, which of course costs. In the United States, Window 10 Home costs 119,99 dollars while the Pro version is sold for 199,99 dollars.
According to the most recent statistics published by the NetMarketShare, τα Windows 7 είναι το λειτουργικό σύστημα επιτραπέζιων computers number one with a market share reaching 43,08%, followed by Windows 10 with 32,93%.
