Microsoft is preparing to release new aggregated updates to Microsoft established Patch Tuesday. Upcoming updates will come with security fixes just like every month.
For Windows 10 users, cumulative updates are especially important because they usually cover all known security gaps.
In addition to the cumulative updates known to everyone, Microsoft also releases delta updates. Delta includes all changes made since the previous update and is only available for systems that are already up-to-date.
Tomorrow Tuesday is Patch Tuesday, and will bring cumulative updates for all versions of Windows 10, except for the original version (10240) and build 1511 that no longer support home users. The same builds that are on Microsoft's LTSB (long term support builds) plan continue to be updated regularly.
Recently, Microsoft released cumulative update KB4090913 for PCs running the Windows Update Fall Creators Update, as well as update KB4092077 for PCs running Windows 10 Creators Update.
As with any new update, Microsoft recommends that its customers install the patches as soon as possible, although some have learned that it is better to wait until an issue is reported.
Cumulative updates have occasionally caused headaches for Windows 10 users, as some of them fail to install, causing problems for computers.
To be fair, we should mention that Windows is installed in billionsmillions computers worldwide. So problems especially with centralized updates are probably natural to happen, considering the amount of different hardware used by all the systems.
It remains to be seen how smooth the experience this month will be, and if problems arise.
Tomorrow, however, before each update, it's a good idea to back up.
