A list of user names and passwords in plain text for more than 1.800 game accounts Minecraft leaked online.
It is not clear from where the database leaked, but some of the affected users seem to be from Germany, according to the Heise news site.
The publication also reports that the cyber criminals who leaked the credentials also published proof that the accounts were valid.
In addition to the fact that the log-in data on the website can be used to download the full version of the game, it can also play the game on behalf of the legitimate owner.
However, any leakage of this kind results in a more important issue, that of password recirculation. It is now known that many use the same password to connect to other online accounts.
Cyber criminals know it and will of course test entry credentials that have leaked to other online services.
