Warp from Cloudflare: free & secure VPN to everyone

Cloudflare unveiled its first VPN product called Warp. The new service will start as part of the 1.1.1.1 application very soon.

April 1st is probably the worst day to make a news announcement . Cloudflare is apparently getting used to it as it also announced its DNS service 1.1.1.1 the 2018 Protopril.

Cloudlfare refers to the new Warp service as a "VPN for people who do not know what a VPN means".

According to the company, the simplicity of the upcoming service will make it attractive for everyone, even for those who do not know what a VPN can do.

Technically, Warp is a VPN. However, we think the market for VPNs as it has been imagined to date is severely limited. Imagine trying to convince a non-technical friend that they should install an app that will slow down their Internet and drain their battery so they can be a bit more secure. Good luck.

The new Warp service will encrypt all user traffic on the Internet, will use end-to-end encryption and will not require users to to install a root certificate on their devices.

Internet connections will be encrypted, but only between the user's device and the Cloudflare server. The same applies to all other VPN services.

But Cloudflare promises that its performance, reliability and focus ς της νέας υπηρεσίας VPN στη διατήρηση του ελέγχου στον τελικό χρήστη, θα είναι τα χαρακτηριστικά που θα την κάνουν ξεχωρίζει από άλλες συγκρίσιμες υπηρεσίες.

Cloudflare's VPN service will be offered like a of the application 1.1.1.1. But the company also appears to be developing the Warp+ service, a premium version of Warp that will be available for a "low monthly fee" for people who want more speed.
