Redmond (Microsoft) revealed its intention to add support Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) Alliance to protect consumers, as announced by Windows Security Program Director Dustin Ingalls.
The FIDO Alliance aspires to “address the lack offunctionalbetween strong authentication devices, as well as the problems users face with creating multiple usernames and passwords.”
The group “plans to change its nature ID cards by developing specifications for an open, extensible, interoperable set of mechanisms that will replace our reliance on passwords for the security authentication of users of online services.”

Ingalls he says that its project Microsoft for FIDO will be integrated into the current Windows 10 Technical preview, and will allow access to "Windows 10 sign-in, Azure Active Directory, SaaS services such as Office 365 Exchange Online, Salesforce, Citrix, Box, Concur" and others services using "two-factor authentication and all without a password"
