If you are Google, you have the convenience of buying whatever you want, no matter how much it costs. Today the company buys the top domain .app.
Business Insider reports that the company searchs won in the auction made by ICANN (the service which controls Internet domains) for the .app top-level domain (TLD). So the Google has soy, .minna, .foo and .how domains available so far (see iguru.how).
The company has no immediate plans for the .app domain, but it's enough to see why it bought it. The amount allocated by the company for the purchase of the domain is 25 millions dollars.
