Security company AVG recently announced its updated consumer privacy policy. The new policy expressly allows for program history to be preserved browsing and the company's right to sell that information to third parties.
The new policy will come into force by 15 in October, but it has already come to the attention of data protection advocates.
The company states in the new privacy policy, in the paragraph entitled "What do you collect that cannot identify me?":
We collect no privacy to monetize our free product so we can keep it free. This information includes:
The ad ID associated with your device
Browsing and search histories, including metadata

Information about other applications you may have on your device and how they are used.

Yes, although it depends on whether the data is personal. AVG may share non-personal data with third parties and may display aggregate or anonymous information publicly.

The Wired UK she spoke with her representatives AVG that stated that the ability to collect search history and browse history also existed in previous versions of the privacy policy but with a different wording. Previous versions of the policy stated that AVG could collect data on "search terms", but did not make it clear that the data could be collected and sold to third parties.
