Microsoft removes Windows ISO 10 1511

Microsoft has changed two days ago how to distribute the first major patch of its new Windows 10 operating system.windows 10 ISO

Before the changes, users were able to download the patch through Windows Update, or through the Media Creation Tool, which allowed them to create an ISO file of the new version.

This last option no longer exists and the “Download Windows 10” highlights the fact:

These downloads can not be used to update Windows 10 computers for the November update (1511 Version).

So Microsoft leaves as the only upgrade option to the latest version of Windows Update.

But beyond that change, Microsoft has also changed the promptness of making updates available, advancing them in successive roll-out phases.

What does this mean; This means that some users will not be able to update their systems to the new version of Windows 10, 1511 build 10586 at this time.

If the update does not appear in Windows Update and you do not have the ISO, then you can only wait until the update appears on your Windows Update computer.

Microsoft's official comment on the change was posted in WinBeta:

The November update was originally available through the MCT (Media Creation Tool), but the decided that in the future it should be installed via Windows Update. Those interested can still download Windows 10 [Build 10240] using the MCT tool if they wish. But the November update will be delivered via Windows Update.

The comment does not reveal any reason for the change, but it is clear that the fact is a disadvantage for some users.

Windows users who want to upgrade a running Windows 7 or Windows 8, for example, can no longer upgrade directly to the latest version, but must first upgrade to Windows 10 RTM, then wait for the new update to appear from Windows Update.

In addition, it prevents them from using the Windows 7 or 8 keys to directly activate their product.

The downside of change, coupled with the fact that Microsoft does not provide any explanation, has disappointed too many Windows users who have not yet upgraded to the latest version of Windows 10.
