Google: Drones with internet 40 times faster than 4G LTE

According to her publication , Google is testing solar drones in Spaceport America, a facility in New Mexico that previously hosted Virgin Galactic.Google Sunset-at-Spaceport_crop

The project, codenamed "SkyBender", aims to test prototype transceivers and drones that use millimeter wave radio transmissions.
Mln transmissions use the frequency of 28 GHz and although smaller than current 4G technologies, speeds are incredibly fast.

Theoretically n millimeter wave can transfer multiple gigabits of data per second, up to 40 times faster than current 4G LTE systems.

At present, it is very much a theoretical project.

The SkyBender project is part of a small Google Access team that has also taken on Project Loon, another experiment for providing high-speed internet.

Google has by the FCC to continue these tests until July.
