Η application Transmission, is one of the most popular BitTorrent clients for OS X and Linux operating systems. The news is that the traditional UNIX application will be released for Windows after almost a decade since its first release.
The open-source file sharing application, developed by volunteers, does not serve ads, boasts a small footprint (about 25MB for Windows), supports encryption, a web interface so you can view your downloads remotely via browser and allows you to set different speed limits on individual torrents.
To download the current one you should visit the Transmission download page (scroll down and download archive transmission-2.92-x64.msi if you are running Windows 64-bit edition, or transmission-2.92-x86.msi if you are running 32-bit edition. Mike Gelfand, developer at TorrentFreak, told TorrentFreak that Windows Transmission has the same set of features as the original, and that it is likely to gain more functionality before it is officially announced.
