To Tails Project just released the first release candidate of live OS Tails 3.0, a live operating system that runs on every computer and leaves no trace either on the machine or on the internet.
This particular functional Tails was used by former NSA employee Edward Snowden to remain hidden on the internet.
If you want to help develop the Tails Project, the first RC for the upcoming version 3.0 has just been released and is available for testing.
How can you help? Of course reporting the errors you encounter to the project developers.
The Tails 3.0 RC1 will be the first version of Tails based on Debian 9 (Stretch) and will feature GNOME Shell 3.22 as the preferred desktop:
"The first candidate version of the upcoming version 3.0 is released. We are very excited and can't wait to hear what you have to say about this. Tails 3.0 will upgrade virtually all included software.
Changes from Tails 3.0-beta4 include: important security fixes.
Upgrade to the current Debian 9 (Stretch). Upgrade Tor to version 0.3.0.7.
Tor Browser upgrade to version 7.0a4, change from Icedove to Thunderbird.
We will provide security updates for Tails 3.0-rc1, just like the fixed versions of Tails.
Note that this is a trial version. We tried it and it works, but it may even contain issues that have not been discovered. "
