The BackBox Linux is an Ubuntu-based distribution used for security assessments and penetration testing.
The project has just been released in a new stable version, BackBox Linux 5. The new version upgrades key components of the distribution and fixes many bugs.
"OR team of BackBox is pleased to announce the updated version of BackBox Linux 5. It took us a long time due to several development difficulties, but we worked hard and overcame them. In this major release we made some structural changes, removed outdated tools and added new ones.”
ISO images for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures are available at the end of the publication.
What's new:
New Linux Kernel 4.8, and updated hacking tools Metasploit, OpenVAS, SE Toolkit, sqlmap, WPScan.
Anyone who uses older versions (BackBox 4.x) can upgrade to the latest version rather than reinstalling it.
