Facebook today announced a new feature designed to increase the visibility of the platform's pages.
Publishers, starting today, can add multiple logos as shown below. These logos will appear next to anything published by the page, but only in the Custom and search" … currently.
The reason the feature appeared now, according to Facebook, is that if you ask someone who read the news they will tell you στο on Facebook, although Facebook does not publishes news except for press releases at his official blog.
A survey by Pew Research Center claims that only 56% of respondents could remember the source of an article when they did click in a link from social networking sites.
While it's a small change, anything that increases visibility to publishers is always welcome. It remains to be seen whether this will have an effect on the end user remembering the source of the content when it is posted on social networks.
