YouTube mp3.org: One of the most popular free sites for converting YouTube videos to MP3 may soon be shut down by the music industry.
The administrator YouTube-mp3.org, who was indicted by the Recording Industry Association of America or RIAA last year, apparently agreed to hand over his website as reported by TorrentFreak. So the RIAA seems to be keeping it domain.
In return for no further prosecution, YouTube mp3 will stop working. It looks like it works at this time, but when you try to convert a video, you get an error message.
Meanwhile RIAA it will not only take control of the domain. According to the announcement published by TorrentFreak (PDF), the website operator shall not “design, develop, offer or exploit any technology or service that enables or facilitates the practice commonly known as 'streamripping.'”
