The Linux Linux 2017.09.01 is its ISO snapshot Arch for September 2017, and brings the new Linux kernel 4.12.8. Includes all updates software and updated versions security, as well as many mods that have been released through the distribution's official repositories throughout the month of August.
It is the most up-to-date installation tool for Linux, and if you want to install a system from scratch it would be best to download it. Of course, everyone who has it has already installed the distribution, with an update they will get that newer release.
