Η Canonical released new updated ISOs of the Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark operating system today to address a bug that blocked the BIOS of some laptops.
Enough users they said problems with the BIOS on Lenovo, Acer and Toshiba laptops after installing from the previous Ubuntu 17.10 ISO. After installation it was impossible to access the BIOS settings.
Others reported that the BIOS was still running with Live ISO DVD, without installing the operating system.
So Canonical has temporarily disabled access to Ubuntu 17.10 ISO file downloads from the official ubuntu.com website. The company released a workaround soon after for existing Ubuntu installations, which requires information of Kernel packages to disable the intel-spi driver at boot.
However, the Ubuntu 17.10 ISO images were released today in all official editions: Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu Studio and Ubuntu Budgie.

We remind you that these ISO have been updated to remedy the problem with Meltdown and Specter vulnerabilities.
