Canonical today released the new updated Ubuntu 17.10 Operating System Artful Aardvark OS to address an error that blocked the BIOS of some laptops.
Several users have reported BIOS issues on the companies' laptops Lenovo, Acer και Toshiba, μετά την εγκατάσταση από το προηγούμενο ISO του Ubuntu 17.10. Μετά την εγκατάσταση ηταν αδύνατο να έχουν πρόσβαση στις ρυθμίσεις του BIOS.
Others reported that the BIOS was still running with Live ISO DVD, without installing the operating system.
So Canonical has temporarily disabled access to Ubuntu 17.10 ISO file downloads from the official ubuntu.com website. The company released a workaround soon after for existing Ubuntu installations, which requires updating Kernel packages to disable the program driving intel-spi according to themovement.
However today Ubuntu 17.10 ISO images were released in all official releases: Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu Studio and Ubuntu Budgie.
