Patch Tuesday KB4088776: The new cumulative Windows 10 updates released by Microsoft in March 2018 for the "Fall Creators Update" are probably not so consistent.
Η information KB4088776 that was supposed to bring security (and non-security) fixes to systems running Microsoft's operating system is once again proving to come with a host of issues on some computers.
The publications in the company forums show a new update fails to install as several users they report that they get error 0x80070002 before the changes are applied, and when the system reboots they see the update as not installed.
As is the case every month, it is not clear exactly what is causing these issues, but one user mentioned that he tried to do a clean install of Windows 10, to no avail. The specified updates could not be installed.
At this point it is difficult to estimate how common this error is, but the more users who install this cumulative update, the better the chances of identifying the error in the code.
For now, Microsoft recommends installing cumulative updates as soon as possible.
