Samsung confirmed with a post at its website that all variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 will be updated with the Android 8.0 Oreo within three weeks.
Although some versions of 2017 Galaxy S8 and Note 8 phones already have Oreo as an operating system, not all versions with the latest Google update have been updated.
Samsung wrote the weekend:
We understand that many of you have Unlocked S8/+ and Note 8 devices you may be wondering why those with models Carriers have the updates first. The reason for this is that unlocked devices have to go through more rigorous testing than Carrier devices because we need to make sure they will work properly on all supported networks...
So we're working with providers to put Oreo on all Galaxy S8 / + and Note 8 devices within the next 2-3 weeks.
Android 8.0 Oreo is a much smarter and faster version of Android.
Samsung has launched Oreo on its devices since February. However, the update was problematic and stopped. Since then, Samsung has released a more stable version.
Samsung has launched Android Oreo on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus earlier this month.
