Windows 10 version 1607 was announced the support fee

Windows 10 running on 1607 version was released in August on 2016. Since then, Microsoft has released some major updates to the Windows 10 platform, such as Creators Update (1703) and Fall Creators Update (1709).

Today with the change log for the current Patch Tuesday update of Windows 10 1607, the Microsoft Support page also contains the following announcement:

Windows 10 version 1607 reaches end of support on April 10, 2018. Devices running Windows 10 Home or Pro will no longer receive monthly that include for the latest threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends the on the latest version of Windows 10.

From April 10, all SKUs (by stock keeping unit) of Windows 10 version 1607 will no longer receive updates. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education SKUs will continue to receive updates for six months until October 9, 2018. Also, the long-term servicing will receive updates until October 2026.

Finally, today is the end of support for the 10 SKUs of 1511 Enterprise and Education.

Using an earlier version of Window 10 may allow attackers to compromise your systems by exploiting security blanks that have been uncovered and have not been updated.
