iGuRu.gr has just received an email from Google that mentions all the important updates regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new General Data Protection Regulation will almost certainly affect you as long as you are online and on European Join. It will come into force by May 2018, and its consequences are complex as there will be potential penalties for any non-compliance.

Today we are giving more details about the measures we take in view of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which includes the an updated User Consent Policy in the EU, changes to contract terms and changes to products us in order to assist both you and Google in complying with the new requirements. |
Updated User Consent Policy in the EU |

Defines your obligations to update and get end-users consent from your sites and applications in the EEA. The policy is incorporated into the contracts for most Google advertising and measurement products worldwide. |
Changes to the contract |
Since last August, we have updated our contract terms for many products, reflecting Google's status as either processing or processing under the new legislation (see full categorization of our promotional products). The new GDPR terms will be added to your current contract with Google and will take effect on 25 May 2018. |
In the cases of DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), DoubleClick Ad Exchange (AdX), AdMob, and AdSense, both Google and its customers act as independent data processors processed by these services. These new terms provide clarity about our respective responsibilities when processing this data, while providing both you and Google with protection in relation to that particular processor. If you use it Google Analytics (GA), Attribution, Optimize, Tag Manager, or Data Studio, either the free or the paid versions, Google acts as the processor of the personal data processed in the service. The data processing terms in these products are already available for your acceptance (Admin → Account Settings pages). If you are a customer within the EEA of Google Analytics, data processing will soon be included in your terms. Non-EEA GA customers and all GA 360 customers can accept terms within the GA. |
