1's Pan-Hellenic Open Robotics Competition

Ο 1 Panhellenic Competition Open Technologies Robotics is addressed to groups of students of Primary and Secondary Schools (Primary, High Schools, Lyceums and EPAL). The Robotics Competition aims to introduce hardware and software education that opens horizons, encourages students' creativity, does not put barriers to their ingenuity and initiative and does not promote products of specific companies to students and their families.Robotic Competition

Robotic Topics Competition

Ο concerns the creation of works (artifacts) using open hardware and software technologies (Open Design, Open Software & Open Hardware), and the production of relevant open educational resources. The subject matter may include automation projects, lighting-, environmental sensors, smart objects, early warning devices, autonomous vehicles, wearables, entertainment, health-wellness applications, laboratory equipment, projects for educational uses and educational applications and IoT applications. (e.g. Open source robotics, openrobothardware, etc.).

Phases of the Competition

1th Phase of the Contest - Design Phase

(31 October 2018 final submission date)

In this phase, construction is not required, but the design and documentation of the idea on its behalf s in github. (see for information about git it http://git-class.gr/). The participating schools must submit their proposals on the competition website by May 13, 2018. By the end of May, the organizing-scientific committee will select at least the 100 best proposals from all categories of the Competition (Primary-High Schools). - Lyceums - EPAL) in which the equipment will be financed by sponsorships (Indicatively the equipment can be Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pi 3 Type B, beagleboard, Dwenguino or any other open technology accepted as equivalent).

2th Phase of the Contest - Implementation Phase

(27 April 2019 completion date)

In this phase the teams are asked to implement their designs, produce open learning materials, document their work on github and create a short video in which they explain how they implemented their project. The documentation, and the presentation of the construction steps, the detailed presentation of all the materials used for the project and the code should be uploaded to a corresponding repository on github and sent to robotics.ellak.gr together with the video that will present and will justify the project.

3 Phase - Evaluation Awards 12 best works (3 by category)

The organizing - scientific committee will select the 3 best projects per category (according to the evaluation criteria (total 12) (3 projects from Primary - 3 from High Schools - 3 from GEL - 3 from EPAL) which will be presented in the Open Technologies Robotics Competition to be held at the University of West Attica.

Participation in the Competition

In the competition they can participate groups of elementary and secondary school pupils.  At 1 phase of the Contest it must to submit the idea  and their documentation up to 31 / 10 / 2018.  At this stage no construction is required but the detailed description of the idea and the open material to be used.

At 2th Phase of the Competition  100 will be selected best for all categories of the Contest (Elementary-Gymnasia - Lyceum - EPAL) who will be invited to carry out their works until 27 April 2019.

The organizing - scientific committee will select the 3 best projects per category (according to the evaluation criteria (total 12) (3 projects from Primary - 3 from High Schools - 3 from GEL - 3 from EPAL) which will be presented in the Open Technologies Robotics Competition to be held at the University of West Attica.
