Good news for Gmail users who want to access emails and offline (offline). So far this has been possible with two different choices: through a client like him Thunderbird or through one special extension of the Chrome browser.

Google started redesigning the web version of Gmail in April 2018. As we mentioned in previous posts, the changes are not only external, in appearance, but they also add some new features to Gmail, such as confidential mode, and direct access to the attachments.
One of the new features of redesigned Gmail is the ability to directly set up offline Gmail access. We refer directly to what no longer requires an extension or a third-party email client.
The main condition to see the new function is to have the latest version of Google Chrome, as well as offline electronic mail, currently not available in other browsers.

You can change the storage period from 30 to 7 or 90 days.
Choose whether you want to download all attachments to be accessible and offline.
Select the "after logging" setting - "keep offline data on computer" depending on whether you want to keep the data offline on the computer or delete it automatically.
Please note that at this time, a third-party email client is still the best option if you need offline access to Gmail emails as there are no time restrictions. However, Gmail users who only use the Gmail web application and Google Chrome will find useful new features.
