The web version of YouTube is much more flexible and you can easily access a video with keyboard shortcuts.
Keyboard shortcuts do not limit you to video playback every 5 or 10 seconds. Instead you can proceed to 10%, 20%, 30%… 90% of the video. This makes the keyboard control very useful especially if the video you are watching is large.
Keyboard shortcuts only work when a video of it is playing YuuTube. These are the number keys at the top of your keyboard. So if you press 1 key, the video will go up to 10%. Similarly, the 2, 3, 4,… 9 keys will take you to 20%, 30%, 40%,… 90% of the video respectively.
If you do not like this method with percentages, and need a full-time (or back-up) promotion, you can use the left and right arrow keys to advance or rewind the video for five seconds.
Keyboard shortcuts are fairly reliable, but can be used once in a video, meaning that if you press 3 to skip 30% of the video, you will not be able to press it again to skip the next 30%. As you move forward, the keyboard shortcuts will not reset the video. But they work in relation to the remaining size.
The number keys only work in one direction. you can go forward, but not backward. If you must move the video backwards, use the left arrow to rotate the video backwards by five seconds.
