This can be done very easily as the batteries can be removed by the user himself. If your computer contains the battery internally, it is a good idea to look for the manufacturer's instructions before downloading the screwdriver.

But how will you know for sure that you need a new battery on your laptop?

From and then Microsoft has added to its operating system a battery usage and performance report.

Below we will see how you can use the feature to see the capacity of your battery compared to its "design capacity". This capacity is usually rated in Watt per Hours (Wh) and is statistical.

Battery history function, as mentioned above, is integrated with Windows 8 and Windows 10. It will compare your current battery capacity with the original capacity, so you can see how well it performs. If today's capacity has dropped significantly, you should buy a new battery.

To create a report for your battery, open a line window by pressing the two keys Windows+X together and in the RUN window that will open write cmd and press Enter. Copy and paste the command below:

powercfg /batteryreport /output διαδρομή\iguru.html

"Path" is the full name of the path that leads to the folder where you want to save the report, for example:

c:\Users\giorgos\Documents\iguru.html

Folders should already exist as the command will not create folders for you.

Press Enter and an HTML file called iguru.html will be created. You can open it with browser you are using. The above command only works on devices that have a battery. So don't try it on your desktop.
