Windows 10 how to check your battery status

Windows 10: If your laptop's battery life seems shorter you won't like it. Batteries are consumable and it is very common not to last as long as your laptop.

Over time and in use, battery capacity decreases. So if it takes far less time than you bought it laptop you probably will have to buy a new one. Windows 10

This can be done very easily as the batteries can be removed by the user himself. If your computer contains the battery internally, it is a good idea to look for the manufacturer's instructions before downloading the screwdriver.

But how will you know for sure that you need a new battery on your laptop?

From Windows 8, Microsoft has added a battery usage and performance report to its operating system.

Below we will see how you can use it to see your battery capacity compared to its “design capacity”. This capacity is usually rated in Watts per Hours (Wh) and is statistical.

Battery history function, as mentioned above, is integrated with Windows 8 and Windows 10. It will compare your current battery capacity with the original capacity, so you can see how well it performs. If today's capacity has dropped significantly, you should buy a new battery.

To create a report for your battery, open a command prompt window by pressing the two Windows + X keys together and in the RUN window that opens write cmd and press Enter. Copy and paste the following command:

powercfg /batteryreport /output διαδρομή\iguru.html

"Path" is the full name of the path that leads to the folder where you want to save the report, for example:

c:\Users\giorgos\Documents\iguru.html

Folders should already exist as the command will not create folders for you.

Press Enter and an HTML file called iguru.html will be created. You can open it with που th. The above command only works on that have a battery. So don't try it on your desktop.

    • Not for me of course! It is for me to be able to send the article to people who have difficulty with English, to have a good guide in Greek to do the battery calibration correctly. :)
