TOP500 supercomputer the list of top for June of 2018

TOP500 supercomputer: Once again, if you look for the fastest and most powerful , η κατάταξη του TOP500 supercomputing για τον Ιούνιο του 2018 δείχνει ότι το Linux κυριαρχεί στα λειτουργικά συστήματα. Για αν ατο πούμε διαφορετικά, κάθε of TOP500 supercomputing runs on Linux.

Linux has been around for many years, but since November 2017 it was the first time that all TOP500 machines have used Linux. Before 2017 there were a few IBM AIX, a Unix variant, very low on the list.

For the future there is no doubt that Linux will continue to dominate supercomputing as there seems to be no competition.TOP500 supercomputers

Linux companies like Red Hat will help Linux stay on top. Red Hat powers the new number one supercomputer Summit (from the American energy company Oak Ridge National Laboratories, to "lead" the list. The computer runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

In the latest TOP500 rankings, 56% of the extra flops were due to NVIDIA Tesla GPUs. This marks the first time that the GPU has surpassed the CPU in supercomputer performance.
For example, the new Summit champ is powered by boards running on two IBM Power9 CPUs and six V100 GPUs. According to NVIDIA, 95% of the top performance (187,7 petaflops) comes from the system's 27.686 GPUs.

NVIDIA also dominated with the less powerful GPU , την οποία χρησιμοποιεί ο τρίτος ταχύτερος in the world with 71,6 Linpack petaflops. It has four V100 GPUs on each dual Power9 node s, instead of six (IBM Power System S922LC, IBM POWER9 22C 3.1GHz, NVIDIA Volta GV100, Dual-rail Mellanox EDR Infiniband, IBM
DOE / NNSA / LLNL).
