KB4345418 and KB4054566 CPU resource-efficient problems

Updates KB4345418 and KB4054566 released by Microsoft on July 16, 2018 appear to cause high CPU resources or problems connecting to the RDS service in the operating system Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016.

Microsoft released several updates on July 16, 2018 in order to issues arising from the July 2018 Patch Tuesday updates.KB4345418

The updates KB4345418 for Windows 10 build 1607 and Windows Server 2016 and KB4054566 for Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 Framework for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, were designed to address Patch Tuesday issues. But once again the technical update to repair the previous update did not work as expected.

Servers have begun to report a number of problems identified after installing the updates. One of these reported problems is that Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect (AADConnect) stopped working after installing the updates on Server 2016 and 2012 R2.

A post at Microsoft Developer Network forum confirms the issue as one user reported that uninstalling KB4054566 fixed the in a Windows Server 2012 R2 environment.

After the services are restarted, the CPU stops using so many resources, but prior to this, uninstall the latest updates.

Να αναφέρουμε ότι δεν είναι η πρώτη φορά που οι ενημερώσεις της ς προκαλούν σοβαρά προβλήματα στα συστήματα των καταναλωτών.

So, for those of you using Windows, it's a good idea to delay as much as you can, until at least you can see that they work without problems.

On the other hand, this practice is not indicative of the security of your system. So if you risk the installation before proceeding it would be good to keep a backup of your system.

  1. Since the beginning of the year, Microsoft updates have become a nightmare for both users and administrators - professionals who do not have IT knowledge or serious technical support, literally "drunk"…
