Piriform: got back CCleaner 5.45 & promises to change!

Piriform, developer of CCleaner after widespread backlash, withdrew the latter of the application. With version 5.45 it was functionally impossible to avoid the collection .

Such as we mentioned yesterday, CCleaner version 5.45 sent anonymous system information to Piriform, and users of the application could not disable this feature, since even after the the app kept sending data.Piriform
Of course, the behavior provoked reactions last week and so Piriform, (a subsidiary of Avast) took back the latest version of CCleaner at the weekend.

The forum of the application states:

We are currently working to separate cleanup functions from analytics aggregation and offer more control options to CCleaner users to remember after a reboot. We also create a newsletter, which will describe the data we collect, for what purposes and how it is processed.

Today we removed the v5.45 version and restored the v5.44 version as the main download of CCleaner while we are working on a new version with several key improvements.

It is a step for sure, the program remembers the user settings after closing the application!

Needless to say, the next version of CCleaner should completely remove these dark patterns and make it clear to users why it collects and what it does with their data.
Of course we still do not recommend using CCleaner regardless of the company promises.
