Twitter Lite: Big tech companies understand the need for fast Internet especially in developing countries where it does not exist. The ever-growing smartphone market worldwide requires immediate solutions. So since fast internet in these areas is somewhat hard to come by, the answer is lightweight apps that offer more or less the same functionality as the full versions.
In April 2017, Twitter first launched Twitter Lite, a lightweight version of the company's mobile app. The application is available exclusively for Android devices.
Twitter Lite is designed to help people with phones that have limited storage and/or weak connections.
Twitter Lite was first tested in the Philippines and then limited to Asian countries. But the company announced yesterday that the Twitter Lite application is now available in 21 additional countries, such as Argentina, India and Turkey. No, Greece is not included in the list but according to the company more countries will be added in the near future.
Twitter Lite offers several advantages over the full version of the application. It's only 3MB and designed to work on 2G and 3G networks, even if the connection is unstable. In addition, the Data Saver feature allows you to “control which images and video can be loaded onto your phone”.
The application may not be available in Greek yet, but that does not mean that you can not try it. Those of you who are interested can download it from the following link:
