Twitter Lite: Big tech companies understand the need for fast internet especially in developing countries where it doesn't exist. The ever-growing smartphone market worldwide requires immediate solutions. So since fast internet in these areas is somewhat hard to find, the answer is easy applications which offer more or less the same functionality as the full versions.
In April 2017, Twitter first released Twitter Lite, a lightweight version of the company's mobile app. The application is available exclusively for devices with Android.
Twitter Lite is designed to help people with phones with limited storage and / or weak connections.
Twitter Lite was first tested in the Philippines and then rolled out to Asian countries on a limited basis. But the company announced yesterday that the Twitter Lite app is now available in 21 additional countries, including Argentina, India and Turkey. No, Greece is not included in the list, but according to the company, more countries will be added in the near future.
Twitter Lite offers several advantages over the full version of the application. It's only 3MB and designed to work on 2G and 3G networks, even if the connection is unstable. In addition, the Data Saver feature allows you to “control which pictures and videos can be loaded on your phone”.
The application may not be available in Greek yet, but that does not mean that you can not try it. Those of you who are interested can download it from the following link:
