Los Angeles University has free over 1800 children's eBooks in English that you can download or read online.
The collection contains classic books such as Cinderella and the Oz Wizard, as well as ebooks with poetry, education and fantasy. You can read them online or download them in a wide variety of styles, including EPUB, Kindle, PDF and more.
On the UCLA website (Los Angeles University) you will find books with a year of publishing from 1728 to 1999. The newer books are probably the minority. The oldest ones even contain illustrations on wood. All the books we tested (the oldest ones) had readable text in an image format, although some were a bit dark.
Books can be sorted by title, publication date, and creator. You can search by using themes, year, collection or creator. The default view is thumbnails but you can also view them as a list.
