Let's go again: H Microsoft released new Intel microcode updates to Windows 10 that replace or update previous updates for Specter variants.
Updates are available for Windows 10 in versions 1803, 1709, 1703, 1607 and 1507. Currently only available through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Updates KB4346084, KB4346085, KB4346086, KB4346087, KB4346087, KB4346087, KB4346087 and KB4346088 protect against various attacks that target vulnerabilities in Intel processors and affect most of them.
Tip: If you want to know if the computer you are affected you can test your Intel processor with the free tool InSpectre for Windows.
Microsoft says for updates:
Intel recently announced that it has completed its validation and launched microcodes for the latest CPUs that protect the Specter Variant 3a (CVE-2018-3640: “RSRE)”, the Specter Variant 4 (CVE-2018 -3639: Bypass storage stores (SSB) ”), L1TF (CVE-2018-3615, CVE-2018-3646:“ L1 Terminal Fault ”).
In short, the new update adds protection for the Specter 3a and 4 variants and includes previous updates released by Intel and Microsoft.
The updates are standalone for Windows 10, and the fixes work directly (protect directly) on the systems of those concerned. Those of you who are thinking of updating the update links are below:
