The Chrome Dino game lets you drive T Rex and jump over cacti to avoid obstacles. Press the space button to jump the dinosaur (and to start the game), and the down arrow to move forward. The goal is to survive for as long as possible, or at least until your Internet starts running.

To celebrate the fourth birthday of Chrome dino, Google published an interview with the developers who created the game, explaining its origins.

Why dinosaurs? According to Chrome designer Sebastien Gabriel, it is a game that goes back to the "prehistoric era", before the ubiquity of Wi-Fi.

The dinosaur's original designs were codenamed "Project Bolan", after a reference to Marc Bolan, the last singer of the 1970 glamor rock band T-Rex.

The game was released in 2014 in September, but initially appeared on some platforms, as on others (older Android devices), the game had to be developed from scratch. In December of that year, development was completed, so everyone could access the game, regardless of the login device.

Chrome Dino game can be considered a huge success although it is hidden. According to Jung, μηχανικό του Chrome UX, 270 εκατομμύρια played every month, from desktop and mobile. Most players come from markets with unreliable internet, such as India, Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico.

You can play Chrome dino game without enabling Plain Mode. Just open the inner one chrome: // dino on the Chrome you are using.

The current version of the game celebrates 4's birthday and is packed with colorful cakes, balloons and hats.
