Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has admitted to promoting "discreet" ads through MIUI on Android. The MIUI app is present on almost all its phones companys.
The company announced through The Verge:
Advertising has been and will continue to be an integral part of Xiaomi's Internet services, and a key element of the company's business model. At the same time, we support the user experience by offering options to turn off ads, constantly improving our approach to ads. Our philosophy is that ads should be discreet and users should always be able to see less.
In recent days, many Xiaomi device users at Reddit and Twitter mentioned her appearance many ads in MIUI apps. Ads even appear on menu settings.
The company of course provides the option to turn off ads, but many users report that they continue to appear even after they are turned off.
Many of them try to get rid of ads by removing the Adsense application System (MSA) of MIUI, but it is not known if this particular tweak solves it problem.
It should be noted that Xiaomi is not the only company that promotes ads on its devices. Amazon sells low-cost phones because they display ads, and Samsung displays ads through push notifications.
