FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is the pan-Hellenic conference of the free communities software and open source software. It is aimed mainly at developers, students and generally anyone interested in open source regardless of their knowledge background.
Open source communities are involved, such as the Hellenic Linux Users and Friends Association (HELLUG), teams of developers and project developers such as Mozilla, Fedora, OpenSuse, KDE, etc. Content is wide ranging, from technical issues and workshops, to translations, legal topics , free / open source policy issues, and more Participation has no registration cost.
FOSSCOMM usually lists some hundreds of participants, with the highest turnout so far recorded in the 2011 Patras event, with about 450 entries. It is held annually by 2008 and to date 6 has been organized in different cities. The event is organized by volunteers and its funding is based on sponsorships and donations.
FOSSCOMM 2018 will take place at the Department of Computer Science University of Crete, at Vouton University of Heraklion. You can find photos, maps and contact information on the departmental website.
