Bootloader: locked or not? One of the best characteristics of Android is that you can gain root access. That way if you're running an older version of Android that no longer receives updates, you can install a custom ROM.
You can customize almost anything on an Android-powered mobile device with root access. Below we will see how you can check the phase of your bootloader.
Unlocking the bootloader requires little skill and you can do it without any particular problem. In case you want to check if your device's bootloader is locked or unlocked, follow these steps.
You can check the status of the bootloader directly from the device you are using. The following method works on most mainstream devices. If it works on your own device, you can use the PC method described below:.
On your Android device, open the Phone app and type it below code.
* # * # * # * # 7378423
A new window will open. In this window, follow the path: Information Services - Configuration. There you will see if your device's Bootloader is locked or not.
Method with PC
If the above method does not work on your device we will find the bootloader status from your computer. It's very simple but you have to download the ADB & Fastboot tools first (Darwin, LinuxAnd Windows) by Google.
Download the file and extract the contents into a folder. Then open a command prompt window in this folder. You can do this by typing cmd into the search for Windows 10. Then go to the path using the cd. (for example if the folder is on the desktop cd C: \ Users \ iguru \ Desktop \ fakelos)
Then you should put your phone into Fastboot mode. To do this, turn off your phone. Then hold it down button to reduce tension sound (Volume Down) and Power until your device restarts. Once it's on, release Power but continue to hold the Volume Down key until you see the bootloader screen.
Connect the phone to your computer via the data cable. Once logged in, run the following command. If you see a code, it means that your device has been detected.
