If you are using Windows 10 with network attached drives, avoid it upgrade on Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
Η Microsoft released the latest version of Windows 10 October 2018 Update two days ago. It should be reminded that this version was released in early October, but due to errors the company was forced to withdraw it.
Microsoft it took six weeks to fix the October 2018 Update and release it again, but apparently six weeks did not reach it.
In one support page, the company states that mapped network drives do not work in Windows 10, (version 1809).
The bug in Windows 10 build 1809 prevents disks from being reconnected to mapped disks on the network during system startup. The mapped drives are shown with a red X icon in Explorer and appear as unavailable to the “net use” command from line of commands.
Microsoft posted a solution on their support page. The company recommends it implementation one script on the affected systems that will automatically connect the mapped disks to the network after the operating system starts.
System administrators should get the commands from the Microsoft support page and run them at startup.
Nevertheless, yesterday's announcement of Microsoft talked about more quality updates.
