Oracle released yesterday a new major version of FreeBox freeware for all supported 64 bit operating systems.
VirtualBox 6.0.0 is only available for 64 bit versions of Windows, OS X, Linux, and Solaris. The latest version of VirtualBox that supports 32-bit hosts is the 5.2 version, which will be supported by 2020 until July. Downloads are available in the official VirtualBox website.
Note that the size of the VirtualBox installer for Windows has almost doubled from around 100 Megabytes in previous versions to 6.0.0 Megabytes now in version 200. However procedure management uses the same amount of RAM when running.
VirtualBox 6.0.0 can also be installed on existing installations. THE new edition it will automatically read existing virtual machines. Installed extensions will also need to be updated. The changelog of VirtualBox 6.0.0 highlights several major changes to the new release as well as improvements, fixes and changes.
The new version of the software virtual computers comes with a slightly changed appearance. Some icons have been moved or removed, but the layout remains mostly the same.
Another major addition is a new admin files which gives users control over the guest file system. Includes options for copying files between the host system and the virtual machine.
Other new important features are the best support 3D graphics on Windows, VMSVGA 3D graphics emulation on Linux and Solaris, and Hyper-V alternatives on Windows PCs.
