The VLC is now expected to reach three billion downloads and the people behind the program are duly celebrating the CES 2019 report.
VLC is a free, open source code, video player, which can play any media format that exists. Except today's new 3.0.6 version which is now expected to catch the three billion downloads.
The Variety visited the manufacturer's booth companyVLC's VideoLan at the international exhibition CES 2019, where its people are counting the downloads and they are getting closer and closer to the number of three billion. THE team of VideoLan expects that number to catch up sometime today Friday, with about 25% of all downloads going to mobile devices.
In a celebratory mood, company representatives said that VLC will work to bring the AirPlay on its platform, in the future. Variety reports that developer Jean-Baptiste Kempf believes the feature could arrive in the coming months.
