News version for the popular PuTTy program which thankfully reached version 0.71 and fixes bugs that allowed fake connection requests.
The latest version of it PuTTY SSH and Telnet client released on 16/3/2019, adds protection against fake login and audit requests identity terminal, who intend to steal them information connection. The new version 0.71 comes after 20 months of inactivity and fixes a total of eight security issues.
Five of the vulnerabilities corrected with PuTTY 0.71 were found through the program bounty bug which was sponsored by European Union, and had set the amount of €90,000 as a reward for anyone who reports bugs and holes in the software with its twenty-year history on the Internet.
However, PuTTY 0.71 fixes one serious overflow error which exists in all previous versions of the client program. Another significant weakness mentioned (through the European Union's reward program) is that of hijacking the help file (.CHM format) in the PuTTY variant for Windows.
