The first portable walkman device that can play old cartridges and comes with built-in Bluetooth 5.0 is coming soon to stores.
What it is old it's new again! A new device named “It's OK”, will appear in the market and will be one player cassette player, Bluetooth compatible. If you missed the days that the Sony Walkman dominated all the youth then, then you will love this machine!
And if you are wondering if it is necessary to combine an old and obsolete technology with the latest wireless standard, the answer is of course no, but it sure is something cool and interesting!
While people are now accustomed to Mp3 and stream, there are definitely users who miss the sound of movies or the twists and turns of vinyl, and this device aims to satisfy that nostalgia.
The "It's OK" wireless tape player will feature Bluetooth 5.0 technology, so while you're using an old-school music player, you'll be able to connect it to a Bluetooth headset or speaker, making it a very versatile device (assuming you still have some cassettes you are interested in listening to).
In addition to playing music, the new walkman will be able to record audio. You will not have to worry about finding a store that still sells unwritten cassettes, as the manufacturer will include in the package of the device a cassette with a recording capacity of 60 minutes.
Now if you really want to go back to your school days, there will be one too door 3,5mm so you can connect to a pair of wired headphones.
The device will be powered by two AA batteries, as were the old devices. This is an interesting design option, as most device manufacturers today choose some type of rechargeable battery.
The cassette player will be available in three different versions Colourthe: Cloud (white), Sakura (pink) and Evening (blue). Its cover that protects the cassette will be transparent, so you can follow the turns of the cassette while listening to the music.
In terms of device size, it is 118 mm x 84 mm x 33.5 mm and weighs 152 grams without the aforementioned AA batteries. It would be difficult for the makers to make it smaller, as it must be able to fit the cassette and all the mechanical parts required.
The manufacturer, called NIMN Lab, is seeking funding through Kickstarter. It has already exceeded its monetary target, which was quite modest at just $ 12.789, as funding has so far reached $ 80.885.
If you are interested to order a device for yourself you can do it for about $ 75 US dollars.
