Off Facebook: what is it? Aid or ashes to the eyes

Off Facebook: News από το Facebook ή στάχτη στα μάτια; Το μεγαλύτερο κοινωνικό he said a new feature that lets you see what data the apps you have installed on your mobile devices share. The company begins the announcement by justifying the ads:

Many applications and websites are free because they display ads online. And to reach the people who are most likely to be interested in the ads they display, businesses often share data about users' interactions with websites, ad platforms and other services.

This is how much of the Internet works, but since the average user with a smartphone has more than 80 applications and uses about 40 of them each month, it is really difficult to keep track of who collects what information and how they use it.

Off Facebook

Off Facebook allows you to view your applications and websites that send information about your activity. The new feature allows you to delete this information from your account.

Of course, the new function of the social network does not protect you, since your information has already been sent to those directly interested (advertisers).

Nevertheless, the largest social network proudly announced the news , stating that it is doing so for "more transparency and control of Facebook".

The Off Facebook rollout will start in Ireland, South Korea and Spain. More will follow later .

What happens when you clear your activity through Off Facebook

Authentication information is deleted from data collected by applications and websites. Facebook is not supposed to know which websites you visited or what you did there, and it promises that it will not use any of the data you log out to serve targeted ads on Facebook, Instagram or Messenger.

We expect to see the new operation in Greece, although I very much doubt it for the reliability of Facebook statements.
