Google considers the EV indicators to be of no use to the security and authenticity of the websites and has removed them from the new version. Many security researchers have agreed with Google's decision.

Information from EV will still be available, but will not be displayed to users in the URL bar.

The new Chrome 77 includes several new features that will help developers measure the performance of how their web pages load. The most useful of these is a new one που ονομάζεται “Largest Contentful Paint”. Το νέο χαρακτηριστικό είναι διαθέσιμο στην ενότητα Chrome Tools.

Developers can use the new tool to measure how much time Chrome needs to load a readable version of a site while the rest of the site is still loading.

Another news feature that comes with Chrome 77 will allow system administrators to impose settings on Chrome browsers running within a business.

Chrome 77 brings a new policy called "BrowserGuestModeEnforced".

"If this policy is enabled, Google Chrome will prevent you from connecting to a profile," says Google. "Only Guest logins will be allowed, and all windows will be in incognito mode."
