Google Play Store continues to have problems by detecting the malicious software. Whatever the company does malicious applications they keep popping up and of course there are a lot of people installing them.
Independent security researcher Andy Michael from New Zealand He discovered four different VPN applications for Android with a total download of over 500 millions.
Applications are adware which do not only display advertisements in the background, but also outside the applications, on the home screen of each device.
These applications are Hotspot VPN, Free VPN Master, Secure VPN, and Cheetah Mobile Security Master. Remarkably, all of these applications come from Hong Kong and China, where almost mobile phone owners use VPNs to bypass the Great Firewall.
Apps continue to exist in the Google Play Store until now.
