Google is turning its Maps into a social one network. Η επιχείρηση έχει εδώ και πολύ καιρό μια λειτουργία αξιολογήσεων, που την ονομάζει “Τοπικοί Οδηγοί”, όπου οι χρήστες ενθαρρύνονταν να δημοσιεύουν photos and share feedback about the places they visited.
In addition, Google lets you follow “Local Guides” that you consider worthwhile, so you can see their recommendations for other places they've been. If you like what the person said x, then it makes sense that you'd want to see what he thinks of other local restaurants, bars, parks, hotels, etc. It's a kind of FourSquare / Yelp. Google has the data, it has the users, and it's likely to useste already the Maps from the two they applications.
According to a Google statement “People in the Bangkok, Delhi, London, Mexico City, New York, Osaka, San Francisco, Sao Paulo and Tokyo areas will soon see 'Top Local Guides' appear under the 'For You' tab on application for mobile phones "Maps". When you follow one of these Local Guides, their recommendations will appear on Google Maps, just for you, so you can be inspired by ideas for things to do and places to go.”
The new feature is not yet active, at least on our device, but Google says it will be out soon.
