How to turn on your Android phone when the power button crashes

The with Android operating system are quite durable, but not immune to wear and tear of regular use. Physical buttons will eventually break. After months and years of stress, they will either break or stop working.

And then you realize it's time to replace your favorite Android mobile. But the old one does not open to make a backup. The volume keys may not work either, but the power button is a bigger problem. Here's how to turn on your Android phone when you're in such a difficult situation.

1. Using your phone's charger
This method probably doesn't work on all phones, but it's a pretty simple solution and you should try it first.

If your Android phone is still powered on and has enough battery, plug it in and your phone screen should light up. This will allow you to operate the touch screen and perform some of the following actions to bypass your power button on a more permanent basis.

If it is not on or the battery is running out, connect it to your charger or computer using a USB cable. In some cases this will force your device to turn on automatically, but not at all.

2. Using an alternate startup
Thanks to third-party home launchers that modify the user interface of an Android device, you can add additional features to your device to control your screen. This method requires your phone to be turned on, so you can bypass the power button, though in many cases it will allow you to turn off your screen rather than turning it on.

The Evie Launcher, for example, will allow you to lock your screen by adjusting its custom gestures, such as double-tapping or dragging the screen up or down. To do this, go to the settings of Evie Launcher and go to "Gestures". Select the gesture method and select "Lock screen".

You can select Instant Lock (where the screen will lock immediately) or Time Lock (which will delay the lock for a few seconds).

If required, click "Enable" to confirm your selection.

3. Using the fingerprint.
Those of you who have an Android mobile with the ability to boot through the fingerprint make things very simple. Turn on this feature, just put your finger on the fingerprint detector and your phone will open automatically. Requirement to be in standby mode.

4. Use the Bridge Debug Bridge (ADB)
Android Debug Bridge is one which allows you to perform actions on your Android device through your computer. You can use it to turn on your phone if the power button isn't working and it's completely off.

Once you've set up ADB on your computer, including enabling USB debugging on your phone, you'll be able to send commands to your phone.

Assuming your phone is switched off, connect it to your computer and immediately perform the actions to start the "fastboot" mode. To run the "fastboot" mode you have to press and hold the "volume down" button repeatedly until the start screen of the phone appears.

Once done, open a command prompt and type adb devices to check if your phone is detected. If your computer finds it, type it continuous fastboots to allow your phone to turn on properly.

Once this is done, you can disconnect your phone and use it properly. You can also use some more common ones ADB commands such as adb reboot to restart your device.

5. Once your device is turned on, switch commands on the buttons
The power button does not work, but you can set another physical button to wake up the screen. The disadvantage of this method is that it will only work if the phone is still in operation, so you need to ensure that the battery does not run out never fully.

Applications like Button Mapper, will allow you to configure other physical buttons, such as volume controls or the Bixby button (available on some Samsung phones).

Open the Mapper and follow the instructions in the application to give it the rights it needs. Once this is done, you will see a list of your physical buttons.

Tap the one you want (for example, “Volume Buttons”) and on the next one press “Customize”. Under “Single tap” you can select “Turn screen off”. On “Long Press”, select “Power dialog” to access the power menu.

Unfortunately, Button Mapper does not allow you to wake up your screen and will not turn on if your phone is already off.

The power button does not work
It is possible to turn on your phone without the power button. Applications like Gravity Screen or Button Mapper lets you wake up or turn off your screen. However, your phone must be switched on to use it.

If your phone is completely switched off, using ADB is the best way to turn it on under these conditions. You can use it along with the above applications if you decide to hold your phone for a while until it completely dissolves !!!

  1. Apart from an application I had previously used when the shake screen was opened to live up to the power button, I had also set the timer to boot so that if the device was shut down and I could not open it with the button, it would only open for a while. of.
